A series of talks on the role of Parliament and Parliamentarians during the First World War.

Speakers include:

Dr Mari Takayanagi (Vote 100): The Girl Porters and the Court Twins: Women Staff in Parliament in the First World War

Dr Kathryn Rix (History of Parlaiment Trust): 'From Westminster to war: MPs killed in action, 1914-1918’

Dr Naomi Paxton (University of Lincoln/University of Plymouth/Vote 100): To be annoucned

Priscilla Baines (History of Parliament Trust): ‘Josh at war: Colonel Josiah Wedgwood MP and his memorial for fallen parliamentarians’

(Each talk will be self-contained, so attendees may join us for specific talks only if preferred).

This event is organised by the History of Parliament Trust and the Parliamentary Archives, and visitors are encouraged to visit the 'Parliament and the First World War' exhibition in Westminster Hall.


Access to Parliament is via a security check, please bring your ticket along with photo ID (Driving licence/passport) and enter via Cromwell Green. For further information on visiting parliament see here.
