found a letter in old book meant for an a hitchcock 1st bedfords 43409 looking for a starter point to trace ancestry if any to hand to them any help greatly appreciated tjay

From the immensely helpful Hunts Cyclists website:

Information taken from a local newspaper dated the 14/7/1917:

Pte. A. Hitchcock, Beds Regt., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hitchcock, Green End, Sawtry, who was reported missing on April 23rd, is now stated to be wounded and a prisoner of war in Germany.
