Looks like they unveiled it five days before they met to discuss it! I guess we are talking about two different memorials here, one in the parish church and one elsewhere.

If November 16th fell on a Tuesday, then the press cutting is from 1920?

I take it the cutting is from the Newbury Weekly News, which always used to be published on a Thursday.

The cutting is from the Newbury Weekly News of 11 November 1920. There were. of course, two memorials - the main village cross was unveiled that day while the church folk met to discuss a memorial in the church.   It's interesting to know which came first - but now I need to know whether the differences on the church memorial board are corrections of the names on the memorial or mistakes by the church?
