Hi ,

It wouldn't be the same without you and your list! I like clear crisp photos and will be hoping to take some for my next project.

Seriously though we have great holidays over there taking graves  one day and visiting cultural places the next day. And the gites we stay in are wonderful.

(Thank goodness for copy and paste)

Linda

If there are any cemeteries that only have one photo request from my list when its time for you to go, if its easier to not go for the sake of one photo then I really dont mind. It can give you more time somewhere else then.

Hi Linda,

I too have had many perfect photos from you in the past. You have been very kind. Hopefully I can repay one day.

If possible I need two from Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery and Extension, both Glosters.

HARMAN.C.R.  //  I.B.15

HUMPHRIES.H.J.  //  I.E.1

If time is tight and as no other member has a requirement from this cemetery so far, don't worry if you can't get there.

Best regards,

Simon.

Hi Simon, one of my regulars, you are a Lt Colonel so I have to do them, as I am only Lieutenant!

Having volunteered in a military museum and been given the order of the boot I know  my place.( Not bothered, I volunteer in a far better place now!)

Hubby will be pleased as he worked out the cemeteries in a pattern so will be happy we have ones at that one!

Kind regards

Linda

Have you been court martialled..... I was sure you held a higher rank.

I too have volunteered before and understand the hierarchy.

Have a good safe trip,

Thanks again,

Hello Lady Linda,

I am a new member here...recently arrived in my genealogical research journey.

Not sure where you are in your trip - or if it is over already.

I have a Cousin -1x Removed - who was KIA on October 9, 1917 on the morning Battle of Poelcapelle...and buried there on the battlefield.  Several of his mates were later identified when the remains were re-buried...unfortunately Cousin John became an 'Unidentified" without a known grave.

Pvt. John Jeffrey Newman was in the 148th Company Machine Gun Corps (Infantry).

I understand that within the Poelcapelle British Cemetery there are some - Unidentified Machine Gun Corps gravestones.

If you could take me a photo or two of these headstones so you can read the base inscription I would be very appreciative...I would like to hang a print at home in his remembrance.

Thanks...William Newman
