HMS Zaida

7 posts in this topic

Hello,

I'm in Australia preparing for a trip to England in September.

My Great Grandfather was William Royle of Egremont.  He was lost on the HMS Zaida on the 17th of August 1916 and I would love some further information on him if there is any available.  Unfortunately there is not alot that I can find on line, much of it requires 'in person' research.

Many thanks.

His full name was William Thomas Royle and he was an Able Seaman in the Mercantile Marine Reserve, 37 when he died. His parents' and wife's names are on this link: http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2867178/ROYLE, WILLIAM THOMAS

Just to say that I have copies of several newspaper clippings for this man if Melissa revisits this post again.
