Help Topic: Advertising

Please remember that this forum is run in order to stimulate discussion between people who are interested in the subject of the Great War. It has become very successful in doing that. It is not a ready-made and free marketplace for you to sell your wares. If you assume that, you will soon find out that your posts are deleted. In fact, it can have a negative effect because blatant advertising annoys our members. Those members who have joined simply to advertise are identified as spammers; their posts are deleted, access blocked and ISP aalerted.

There is no problem with you including a reference or links to a non-commercial website in your signature. You can edit your signature in My Controls. You should keep signatures short - preferably no more than eight words. Do not SHOUT, and do not use garish colours or large fonts. Inclusion of logo images is not acceptable.

The owners of this site reserve the right to edit signatures if they feel it necessary to maintain the standards of the forum. If you are not sure whether a link is acceptable and wish to seek clearance for a link, email gwfteam@gmail.com for help.

Advertising your own product or service is not acceptable in the body of posts as text, logo images or links. References of this nature will always be removed or edited by the moderators without warning.
