Help Topic: Tags

Tags Any words or phrases typed into the ‘Tags’ section can be used to collect together threads with a similar theme. This is similar to searching on a key word or phrase but will normally be faster. Use a comma to separate tags, a space will simply be part of the phrase which will become a tag. For example: You are writing a thread on the actions of the 9th KOYLI in the April 17 battles around Arras. You could put the following into the Tag area: 9 KOYLI, Arras 1917, 21 Division. This would allow others who are interested in the Arras battles or in 21 Division or in 9 KOYLI to pull up this thread and all others with one of those tags attached. Note the lack of ordinal number designation and the year with Arras to separate it from actions in other years. Of course only threads with useable tags will appear in the results. Tags were only introduced to the GWF in May 2012 so there will be many topics without them Updated 15/05/2012
