[Llewis]

I have had this bayonet for 45 years.

The man I acquired it from has since passed away.

I have no story behind it. I did not know his name.

Were the serial numbers recorded when the kit was issued.
Did such records survive through the years?

Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum.
We know the Australian troops at Gallipoli carried Hooked Quillion Bayonets, and attached is a photograph of Australian troops in a trench at Gallipoli in 1915 with their hooked bayonets fixed to their rifles " at the ready ".
I also own an Enfield Hooked Quillion Bayonet with an Australian issue mark on the pommel ( photographs attached ).
Lithgow was an Australian manufacturer. Does your bayonet have any issue marks, Regimental marks ? and are you able to post any photographs.
