Nice combinations CT, I like the last one showing the spirits of the past moving through the battlefield to their resting place

Here is a comparison from the Somme, the road to Thiepval 1919 - 2009, this one took a little findng but it does come together

Thanks

Andy,
What is the date of the image from Mill Road towards Thiepval, just wondering if the building is military or a farm building.

Hello Mick

The building I understand is one of the shacks built to house builders/clearance workers to clear the battlefeld in the 1920s

I would think built by the British Army, can anyone else add anything to Micks question?

Hi CT-Guards,  for my part, please feel free to hog-away.  these are great photos and a treat to view.  i've enjoyed the White City and others was particularly interested in the Mill Road photo as i have an interest in early post-war images of the Somme.

( I have the technology but hopelessly am unsure how to even post a photo!);ll.

cheers,

peter
