For some reason I can't copy and paste on the laptop but page 3 of classic threads has a thread about rumjars and their makers.

Chesterfield makers I know of are:

Barker Pottery
E Wright & Co Ltd
Pearson
James Pearson Ltd
Knowles & Son

If you know of any other I'd be interested to know their names.

Thanks John I have all those apart from E Wright is there any chance you can send me a pic of that stamp?
Also did these makers just do the full gallon jars or have you seen them in half Gallons as well?
Have you or anyone else seen any other jars such as the anti-gas ointment with Chesterfield stamps?
Many thanks,
Nim.

I don't have an E Wright jar so could not send a photo. I do know that Pearson made 1/2 Gallon jars as I have one. No change in the mark. Pearson also made two gallon jars in WW2.

hello John Im making a little display for a history day, the potteries of Chesterfield are a large part of it and i would like to show the part Chesterfield potteriers had during the war.
I therefore would like to show pictures of all the stamps from Chesterfield to show how many different firms were involved.
I have SRDs from all the firms you told me about apart from E Wright.

Hope this helps,

Nim.
