Hello, I am looking for help identifying this shell. I am not having any luck with this large size. It is 27-1/4 inches or about 69.2 cm around. It is 23.5 cm tall and 22 cm across the open mouth. I was thinking German Trench Mortar when I bought it, but I am not to sure anymore with the size. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It is stamped with Polte Magdeburg and Aug 1915. It has a 33 on the top above all of this. The last picture is it beside a German 7.7 and a FrenchAttached File  Shell_Height.jpg   23.16KB   4 downloads 37MM for size reference.Attached File  Comparison_Photo.jpg   32.9KB   1 downloads

It could well be a Morser cartridge case.
