Last weekend went Bunker Hunting in Northern France and managed to view nearly 30 in 2.5 hours so only another 200 or so to go. A couple of them are shown below. The First Bunker 3 is quite close to the road at le Chassel near Frelinghien

The next, Bunker 5 is one of a group of 3 bunkers located further down the road at le Chemin de la Vacherie. Its not clear why so many bunkers remain in northern France, sone like those near Frelinghien hardly damaged.

And finally Bunker 7 which is virtually directly north of Bunker 5. Should you wish to see the whole collection they will be here

What I believe to be "Hitlers Bunker" between Fromelles and Aubers,   50* 36'35.61N,  2*50' 21.12E.  He went out of his way to visit it whilst returning to the area in WW2
......its a start, but I can't see an end to it, there''s a lot of them in that area!!

Towisuk, you are correct in your belief that the bunker that you have presented is what is known as "Hitler's Bunker". The local military historian from Fromelles told me, about a month ago, that the village of Fromelles had arranged for the Bunker to come into the care/protection of the village administration.

hudsonwhistle, the bunker you have indicated is a storage bunker, not a fighting/defensive one. BTW, the German writing above the doorway is the name of the builder. I have looked at this bunker many, many times and recently arranged for the small tree growing in the doorway, and blocking the view of the blastwall inside and the builders name, to be removed.

Regards, Peter

Photograph, marked "Gefechtsstand in Frelinghein (Flandern) 12.4.1918" for your delectation.

Apologies for disturbing dormant topic.
