Am I correct in thnking that there are only two volumes in the series and that the effort to record the biographical details of all officers killed was then abandoned due to the numbers involved?

Volume 1 can be downloaded from Archive.org at nil cost.

Volume 2 doesn't seem to be free anywhere, but is  available as a reprint from N&M, or on CD from S&N genealogy Supplies for £14.95, unless anyone know better?

Can't find Volume 2 free anywhere and the best price I've found so far is £25.77.
So £14.95 from N&M looks like a good deal.

I took a look at Vol 2 in my local reference library today, but unfortunately my man wasn't in it as he was an officer in an Indian regiment. I had been hoping to find a photograph.

Like you, I have tried a few on-line sources with no noy on Vol 2.

Hi Keith,

Like you I was hoping my man (58th Vaughan's Captain John Oliver Nicolls MID) is in the second volume; would you know if he is in this one? He was killed at Loos 26th September 1915. Regardless I just ordered both orginals.

Many thanks

Seaforth
