Since my last posting I've met with the four local headteachers (three primary and one secondary who serve this specific town. There are about 12 other primaries from the countryside I've not yet met). I'm working on a Great War local package of school material; and as an ex-head of history I can gage its accuracy and relevance.
We're also working on a town basis with the town council to ensure a "town wide understanding of the obligations of the war on the town* which includes deaths as well as the effects on local families. A town Great War trail is under consideration.
Both county and town council cutbacks has seen massive changes in personel.
