Not sure if anyone is interested but on my blog of December 18, 2011 here I have a list and photograph of 25 Australian Prisoners of War who were friends of my grandfather, Cpl. John Cody #63207, 3rd Battalion, C.E.F.

Would certainly be interested if the two unknown could be identified and any additional information on any of these men other than the on-line service files.

Cheers
Bob

An amazing photo with fantastic provenance. Most are 5th Division AIF captured at Fromelles 20 Jul 1916.

"The card is signed "A reminder of Minden & captivity. To my esteemed chum Corpl. J. Cody.

Sent with the best of wishes and good luck. From yours sincerely yours, Allan Speer.

Minden June 27, 1917 , The Rosery, Jasmine Strret, Bowrae, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia".

That would actually be Bowral rather than Bowrae. 90 mins south of Sydney.

Hi Bob - me again!

Been searching through the files of the men on your list to see if any stayed long enough in England to marry before their return to Aus - as some POW's did........
........anyway - in the course of my search I came across John McDonald, Cpl 4278 - who would probably be No.22 on your list: http://recordsearch....e.asp?B=1842022

Cheers again, Frev
