A new branch is born.
The branch is very keen to become a destination for all WW1 enthusiasts who visit the Somme and surrounding area, it hopes to prepare a calendar of events that gives the maximum ammount of people the chance to get together, learn, help one another and share their knowledge and experience.
With this in mind it is the intention to hold a standard monthly meeting, this will be on the second Tuesday of the month (starting in February 2012), during increased visitor periods the aim is to hold fortnightly meetings.
The events calendar and meeting location will be posted on the WFA website and the GWF when confirmed.
Everyone is welcome, anyone who would be kind enough to volunteer as a speaker please pm me.

Tim.

Well done Tim. It is actually a branch re-born, as we had one on the Somme in the 90s.

The mayor of Albert, who is an honorary member of the WFA, was always very helpful in supplying accommodation for meetings; we used a room in the town hall at Albert several times, for example.
