I wonder if anyone has 'The History of the Rifle Brigade in the War of 1914-18' volume 1 and, if so, whether they might be in a position to scan/copy the pages relating to their attack at Redan Ridge on 1st July 1916.  I have paid for the WD from the NA site but the total contents for this date read: "Battalion assaults German front line trenches.  Report by Maj Barclay attached".  Unfortunately, Maj Barclay's report does not appear in the digitised version of the WD (or was never there).  It is one of  just a few gaps in my records for all units for 1st July and any help/assistance would be most gratefully received.

Just thought I'd give this one a bump.  Perhaps, if anyone has the regimental history, they could let me know how many pages it takes to cover the events running up to and on 1st July 1916?  Then I can at least make an informed decision as to whether it is worth shelling out £60 for.

Jim,

Very kind.  As you may know there is nothing in the War Diary as the report mentioned seems to have disappeared from the file.  PM with email on way.

Thanks.

Bill
