Over the counter conversation with one of our lady customers who mentioned she'd recently been to see WAR HORSE. Staff: "So what did you think of it?" Lady: "Oh, I didn't like it all." "Really. Why not?" "Oh, there was far too much war in it." Staff: "??!"

Perhaps she should have attended the screening of 'Horse' two doors down on the left instead.

Thought Steven should know that the DVD of 'War Horse' is available on pre-order at Amazon. Due out in early May. Don't forget to use the Forums Amazon link!

Thanks for the (ahem) "Heads Up".

Memo to self: barge pole, 10 foot, avoid, plague.  Yep - I'm saying all the right words.

Coming back to the discussion about horse casualties at Monchy, Angelsey states that the 10th Hussars and Essex Yeomanry must have suffered "at least" 900 equine casualties, while a private manuscript in the KRH archive (which we are attempting to prepare for possible publication) believes the figure to be about 1,000. From memory, the leading squadrons of the EY lost every horse.

At present side tracked with restaurant but have an interior brick wall built in 1914 in the function room that houses my WW1 stuff. It draws a lot of interest.
