Have just been reading the White Feather letter postings. And I wondered just what jobs excused people from joining up. I don't know if this subject has already been discussed before, but I couldn't find any links

If you put 'reserved occupation' in the forum search engine there are a number of others

(note I know 'reserved occupation' was a WW2 term but it's simply a search parameter in this context)

thanks for answering so promptly. My grandfather was a ploughman during the great war and I had always wondered why he had never been called up, this makes a bit clearer
