I'm gathering info about my partner's relation, who served as a nurse in the Middle East at these locations:

Enlisted 7th May 1915
Hospital ship Braemar Castle from Feb 1916; disembarked Basrah 3rd Aug 1916.
3 BGH Basrah;
83 CSH Nasiriyah;
40 BGH Makina;
31 BSH Baghdad;

I assume these (with the exception of the ship),were permanent establishments in base areas, commanded by a fairly senior officer?

No 83 Combined Stationary Hospital
No  3 British General Hospital
No 33 British General Hospital
40 British General Hospital
No 133 British General Hospital
No 23 British General Hospital
No 1 British   General  Hospital
No 2 British    General Hospital
No 32 British General Hospital
N0 31 British General Hospital

There is one more the 65th British General Hospital next to the river Tigris ? ( but I am still looking for information on it )
