What I like about all of these cards are the tremendously life-like poses and in particular the facial details that the artist has captured; so much so I suspect the subjects must have originally been photographed and then the picture created from that? Perhaps someone else can advise on the suggestion?

Dave, you are absolutely correct, in fact if you look at the next sequence of cards, you will recognise Sgt. Hurcomb from the surrdender of Jerusalem photograph.

I hope no member minds if some of the remaining cards in this set ( Territorial Regiments ) are post WW1 and pre-WW2.

The active units of the Alwar Forces servde in the Great War, the Lancers on the North-West Frontier and in Afghanistan, and the infantry battalion in Egypt and Palestine.

57. Indian Army State Forces - Bahawalpur State Forces - Empire.
The Sadiq Battalion served in Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and the North-West Frontier.

58. Indian Army State Forces - Baria State Forces - Empire.

59. Indian Army State Forces - Bikanir State Forces - Empire.
Their famous Camel Corps, rendered good service in the early days of the Great War fighting East of the Suez Canal.

60. Indian Army State Forces - Dhrangadhra State Forces - Empire.

A Regiment of Hyderbad Lancers served with the Imperial Services Cavalry Brigade on the Suez Canal, and in Palestine during the Great War.

63. Indian Army - Indore State Forces - Empire.
Their Transport Corps rendered great services in the Great War in France, Macedonia, Egypt, and Gallipoli, being present at the Suvla landing, while the Mounted Escort served in Iraq.
