Sorry for delay getting the lists onto the forum: call it old age or just work getting in the way! Will appear in three attachments. Hope it's of interest, Nigel

Just to confirm all these had Bradford as the postal address. Plus I've only taken details of the main processes or products. Some factories supplied multiple products for the Ministry. Any of interest let me know and I'll try to fill in any extra details, Nigel

Wow Nigel many thanks for that - I'll be busy now looking to see if the archives have any further info on these firms. If I find more info I will add it to the list of jobs and eventually it will appear on BradfordWW1. Where did the list originally come from is it from a document at the National Archives?

Sorry, nothing as grand as the National Archive I'm afraid! Whilst preparing a talk, I was given a copy!

I came across a first edition, 1916, copy of Shell-Turning for Munition Workers today while browsing antiques shops in Lincolnshire. As I was paying, one of the assistants said 'my mum worked in a munitions factory in Dewsbury'. small world.
