Hi all - this is my first post, so I hope I get it to work!

My grandfather, who started off in 1/6 Black Watch transferred into 23 Bn MGC in Sept 1916 and eventually ended up in N Italy where he stayed until at least Jan 1919 ( I have his day pass to Verona dated then). I also have 2 photos which people might like to see. They are both annotated on the back, in my g'father's writing. One is " Austrian Howitzer Team" and the other "Picked during Austrian Retreat Nov 1918. I was wondering whether anyone might be able to fill out a bit of background on these for me, and have any comment on the photos themselves?

Thanks :)
