According to my Wiltshire Cemetery Register, Wilton Cemetery is on the Ugford Road, and contains 8 WW1 burials.

It isn't on my doorsteep but if you don't get any replies  might be able to oblige.

I used to visit this cemetery fairly regularly.  I did take some photos of the CWGC graves but not all of them.  Whose headstone do you want a photo of?

Jonathan

Thank you for this reply. I know that this is a private memorial under the care of the CWGC, it was in pretty poor shape a few years ago. Hopefully it has been refurbished.

Peter if this is a private memorial ie. not a CWGC headstone then I know I definitely wont have it.  I did photograph some of the graves but they were all CWGC headstones.

Forum Pal Moonraker is the resident expert on Wiltshire - it may be worth dropping him an email.

Have just sent the pictures, Peter. Apologies for the brief message yesterday but I was about to drive off. You were lucky  I had been wandering round baffled for half an hour because it was Sunday and no staff on site, and no map and very few plot numbers: I was just on my way to the gate, giving up, when I saw an unusually clean-looking private memorial and went to check...

I do have photographs of four other GW headstones - Jonathan, if I list the names can you tell me if you photographed them? If not, I'll head off to the "Offers" forum...

43951 Private C. GOBEY, Devonshire Regiment. 5th April 1919.
60354 Private B.S. YOUNG, West Somerset Yeomanry. 21st February 1920, Age 23. Until the day break.
5427   Private W. TIMS, 3rd Battn, London Regt. 2nd March 1916.
Captain T.A.C. BRABAZON, Essex Regiment. 3rd August 1916, Age 20. Also his father, Lt Col. W.B. Brabazon, Naval Ordnance Department, 12th February 1936 Age 75.

Jane - go ahead and post on the "Offers" forum.  I think I did take Brabazon (with intention of finding a link to J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon).  I cant recall who else I took (or if, as there was only about a dozen, I took all the CWGC headstones) but I am sure it included a Royal Marine.

Thanks for doing this for Peter - who has supplied numerous photographs to me.  I was disappointed in the end that I couldnt return the favour.

Regards,

Jonathan S
