Hi, I've got the MIC for one William E Hickmott who was in the Royal West Kent's and I'm trying to find which Battalion he was in. His regimental number was GS/7665

His medals (Victory and British) have reference: GSE/2/103 B4 page 273

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks

Paul

It might persuade someone to look if you can quote the Ledger number from the NA Catalogue.
WO329/1447 page 273 has the man's medal entry, and hopefully his Battalion on first landing.

I was at Kew today and checked the ledger in WO 329/1447 and was puzzled to find Hickmott didn't appear on the expected page, and I assumed it was an error on the card. But having got home and double checked I see there are two files with the same description....I'm not going back for a few months, so if anyone is able to check for me, I think his entry may be in:-

WO 329/1448 on page 273 (William E Hickmott)

Many Thanks
Paul

PS Does anyone know why there would be two files with the same description?
