My wife's grandfather served with RGA on Malta during WW1. We know that he had contact with prisoners of war in 'Verdula'. Among his souvenirs was a red, white and black 'cockade' button. This symbol seems to be the centre piece of German cap badges. I'd appreciate knowing the origin of this symbol particularly as it seems more than possible that this one originally belonged to an Emden crew member.

Perhaps the most intriguing is a post card size pencil drawing of the Emden sinking or wrecked. I have had this verified as being hand drawn in pencil. I've compared it to photographs available on the internet and there are differences in detail, but I suppose if it was drawn from memory there would be. Any comments welcome.

Thanks Story

I'm reading 'The last Corsair' by Dan van der Vat, hope the movie is as good as the book.
