Good Day

I am looking for any Navy information on my Great-grandfather, William Gray, b. about 1882.  Died Nov 26, 1914.  He was a stoker on the HMS Bulwark.

He was with the Branch, Royal Naval Reserve

Official Number  1979.U.(Po)

Rank Stoker

Thank you

His original RNR records of service are held at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Microfilm copies are at Kew. Since he was an RNR stoker on his third period of enrolment ('U') he should have earlier records under 'S' and/or 'T' numbers as well.

thank you so very much.  Is there any way one could get a copy of the records from either the museum or Kew?  What does 3rd period of enrollment mean.  I apologize for my ignorance on this subject.

RNR ratings could enlist for successive 5-year periods and were given a new number for each period.
