I was talking with a chap in Liverpool this afternoon about the Hall Of Remembrance at Liverpool Town Hall.
He told me he'd seen a film on TV many years ago about the 'Docker's Battalion'. He said he'd only seen it once and, to his knowledge, it hadn't been repeated.
Sadly, he couldn't remember it's title or who was in it (except for an actor who was also in Z Cars). The film was a drama, not a documentary, and he thinks it was filmed in Birkenhead.

Has anyone any idea of the title of this film? Does anyone remember it? I'd love to see it but a trawl of the net has produced nothing at all.

Sorry, can't help but there is a discussion here on the forum including a short film.

Good luck,

Hi Sandie

I'd be very interested to hear about any film of the Dockers' Battalion. The only ones I'm aware of are the short ones from the British Pathé film archives here:

http://www.britishpa...ckers battalion
Liverpool Docker Now Soldier Of The King… 1914-1918

http://www.britishpa...ckers battalion
This In Our Time - Reel 2 1896-1929

We had a bit of a chat about the Dockers' Battalion here a while back (probably same link mentioned above):

Well, here's the cast of Z Cars. If you click on their name, it shows everything that each actor has done. http://www.imdb.com/...ullcredits#cast

I had a trawl through, but couldn't see anything likely. Mind you, it could have been called anything.

Even the decade that it was made would be handy. Presumably it was after Z cars.

Thank you for all your replies. I'll probably never see the man again so can't ask any further questions.
Some interesting stuff to go through though!

Thanks again,
