Hello everyone,

I've noticed some numbers on a service record and wondering if someone can shed some light on them. The numbers refer to a WIA & KIA:

WIA c1200
KIA c1364

Would these refer to casualty numbers for whatever clearing station/hospital they were sent to? Or would they refer to records kept?

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

I would hazard a guess that they refer to casualty lists - most of which have not survived.
Assuming the man was indeed a casualty, we have "Wounded in Action ref List C1200" then "Killed in Action ref List C1364"

There is a long thread showing various Casualty Lists but I cannot find it at the moment.
