The histories of those RE8s, as I have them are as follows. I have A4455 with 5 Sqn - have you a date for the 15 Sqn entry in the logbook, presumably Douglas's? BTW - I still have to dig out those met stations - busy clearing CCI 43/2.
A3572 Presentation a/c Johore No.5. 1 AD dd ex England 5.6.1917. 1 AD 6.6.1917 re-allotted from 63 Sqn to BEF, VTBF. 15 Sqn dd ex 1 AD 21.6.1917 and damaged in forced landing near Weilly on Photo sortie, Corps Area, 10.12.1917 (Lt S.D.Morrison/2Lt J.K. Whittle both OK the pilot lost his way, ran short of fuel and the machine ran into a sunken road. 1.2.18 2 ASD Repair Park by 31.12.1917. 13 Sqn dd ex 2 ASD 6.3.1918 and wrecked on take-off from forced landing 2ml E of aerodrome on Puff Test 2.5.1918 (Lt C.E. Everard/2Lt J. Evans both OK the machine hit telegraph wires). 1 ASD Repair Park ex 13 Sqn 4.5.1918.
A3730 Presentation a/c Gold Coast No.8. 1 AAP Coventry 23.6.1917 allotted to BEF, VTBF. 1 AD dd ex England 20.7.1917. 15 Sqn dd ex 1 AD 23.7.1917 and force landed from Contact Patrol, Flesquieres, 22.11.1917 after main tank shot through by EA (Lt C.K.M. Douglas/2Lt W.H. Steele both OK). 2 ASD Repair Park by 1.2.1918. 52 Sqn dd ex 2 ASD 6.3.1918 and crashed on Practice Flight 8.3.1918 (2Lt A.S. Kynoch OK the machine side-slipped from a turn at about 100ft). 2 ASD ex 52 Sqn 9.3.1918.

A4398 SARD 31.8.1917 allotted to BEF VTBF. 1 AD dd ex England 5.9.1917. 2 AD dd ex 1 AD 9.9.1917. 15 Sqn dd ex 2 AD 10.9.1917 and LIA on 10.15 Contact Patrol 20.11.1917 (2Lt G.T.J. Young/2Lt A.L. Wylie MC both KIA the machine was shot down in flames by machine gun fire). Deleted on 15 Sqn.

B5031 1 AAP Coventry 4.9.1917 allotted to BEF, VTBF. 1 AD dd ex England 12.9.1917. 2 AD dd ex 1 AD 15.9.1917. 15 Sqn dd ex 2 AD 25.9.1917 and wrecked on Contact Patrol 20.11.1917 (Capt H.S. RobertsonWIA/Lt W.C. Davey fatally WIA the pilot force landed after the machine was hit by an 18lb shell). 2 ASD ex 15 Sqn and deleted 11.12.1917 (not worth reconstruction).

Birchett/2Lt H.F. Griffiths both OK the machine touched down heavily on one wheel and crashed). 2 ASD ex 15 Sqn 14.3.1918 and deleted 21.3.1918.
B2267 1 ASD Reception Park dd ex England 16.11.1917. 2 ASD dd ex 1 ASD 18.11.1917. 15 Sqn and wrecked landing from Photo sortie, Corps Area, 22.12.1917 (2Lt A.R. Cross/2Lt H.J.L. Kirkpatrick both OK the undercarriage struck a frozen molehill and a wheel came off causing the machine to crash). 2 ASD ex 15 Sqn 27.12.1917 and deleted 15.1.1918.
B2276 15 Sqn by 1.2.1918 as a/c 13 and crashed on new aerodrome after Artillery Observation, Corps Area, 18.5.1918 (Lt F.C.V. Dymant OK/Lt J.T. Wyne injured engine had seized). 2 ASD ex 15 Sqn and deleted 20.5.1918 (not worth reconstruction).

A4373 En-route Austins Newhaven in packing case 12.7.1917, allotted to BEF. 1 AD dd ex England in packing case 23.7.1917. 2 AD dd ex 1 AD 10.9.1917. 13 Sqn dd ex 2 AD 15.9.1917. 1 ASD Repair Park ex 13 Sqn 1.4.1918, listed as awaiting reconstruction 6.4.1918 but deleted 14.4.1918.

C2300 13 Sqn by 5.4.1918. 42 Sqn dd ex 1 ASD 1.6.1918 and LIA on Photo sortie, Corps Front, 23.9.1918 (2Lt D.A. Newson/2Lt G.E.M. Browne both KIA the machine was seen to fall in flames possibly brought down by Ltn H. Leptien, Jasta 63). Deleted on 42 Sqn.
C5051 13 Sqn dd ex 1 ASD 15.12.1917 and reported 3.7.1918 as slow to climb and showing signs of fatigue throughout, owing to age, with planes and fuselage covers becoming soggy, but considered fit for Instructional Purposes and fit to fly the Channel. Flown to England 8.7.1918.
