Just going through enormous numbers of postcards on sale over here - any ideas on this one? Zeytinlik in the Camp title is 'With olive(trees)' or 'With (olive) oil)' in Turkish. Sorry if this is already well known - I'm slowly working my way through 3700 odd postcards on sale here and I thought it best to post as I saw the interesting ones...

Could well be! I thought they were French from their hats but have no idea about uniforms etc..

I don't know where the camp was and I'd guess that Adrian Wright, who would, is with Alan Wakefield's tour group over there just now but Zeitenlick is in the same area as the Lembet Road Allied Military Cemetery. The Italian name for it is Cimitero Militare Italiano Zeitenlik.

The IWM caption to their version is A regiment of French infantry on the march at Zeitenlik (Lembet Road) Camp, 13 October 1915.

Zeitenlick is just to the north-west of Salonika town; and the men in the photo are French. Most French regiments stopped off at the camp on the way to and from the Front. The regimental history of the 2e bis Zouaves described it as 'dusty, partly marshy, hummocky, treeless.' Sounds lovely
