In and around Bethune from 22nd June to 1st July. Will be visiting Bethune cemetery for one of my own, pictures of any other graves I'll  if I can.The plan is to visit other graves and memorials in the area, and will be coming back via weimereux for another one of my family .
I am aiming to keep updating my travels while out there, and give an idea of which areas we will be in.

Not in the town itself but fairly close, I would be pleased to have either of these if you happen to be in their vicinity:

Hersin Communal Cemetery Extension (some 5 Km south of Bethune and 2 km west of the main Bethune-Arras D937 road, on the northeast edge of Hersin-Coupigny village)

W.Hawkins 18106 Pte. RWF / Lab. Corps, 27 September 1918.  Ref. III.E.13

Cambrin Churchyard Extension  (some 8 Km east of Bethune on the D941 La Bassee road, situated behind the village church)

T.Shaw  5348 Pte. RWF, 25 September 1915.  Ref. H.21

If there is a plant obscuring a headstone & which can't be moved aside for the occasion, could you please make a note of the personal epitaph if any?

Many thanks,
Clive

No bother with those, I'll let you know as soon as I have the photos.
Yes I found out John McCrea was in Weimereux when I was researching one of my relatives William Robinson Tanfield, who is there.

But at least I won't have to dodge bullets and shells, I'd take wet over that anytime, and I am sure that all the lads at the time would have preferred that too.

Hello Hamster, If you have time whilst you are at Wimereux could you just say hello to Private William Charlesworth, Died8/4/1917 grave ref 11.f.16. I researched him for a friend and found his story to be very sad in as much as he died of a bayonet wound in the thigh. the wound was received after  spending part of the night in no mans land as a member of a machine gun team covering a trench raid...on returning to his own front line trench he jumped down into the trench and landed on a bayonet attached to a rifle leaning against the trench wall. He was not thought to be seriously wounded the doctor treating him thinking he would be back fit within 2 weeks however he died of internal bleeding. No need for a photo as I did take some when I was there 3 years ago,be nice if you do have a minute just to say hello, cheers, Gilbo
