Thank you so much for this, seaJane.

I have the book mentioned in the blog: The Friends’ Ambulance Unit 1914–1919: a record (London, 1920), by Meaburn Tatham and James E. Miles.

I find it the most fascinating book of all the WW1 books I have in my possession.

It is full of facts but still very readable and a real tribute to the enormous amount and range of work carried out by the FAU.
