I'm sorry notice for this is so short.

You are cordially invited to join us for Bill MacCormick's (bmac) talk on Gommecourt for Northamptonshire WFA tonight 14th June at 7.30pm.

The venue is the Ex-Servicemen's Club, Sheep Street, Northampton NN1 2NE

Come and meet Bill, leading expert of the tragic diversionary prelude to the even greater tragedies of the Somme, who will bring along copies of his books.

£3 on the door; everyone welcome.

Royally.  Cheese and bacon burger and a lemonade and lime with (count 'em) two straws!  They denied me the little pink umbrella which would have come in useful on the walk back to the club.  I enjoyed myself, cannot speak for anyone else.  They may well still be asleep.

Bill,
any plans to do a talk at the Birmingham branch? I know this years itinery has already been set,but for next year, maybe? I'm not sure how it works, are the speakers approached by the branch?
I have both your books and find Gommecourt a fascinating part of the July 1st story.I have also walked the 46th Divisions battlefield.
Anthony.

There is a speakers officer at the WFA who I tried to contact but got no response.  Most of the ones I am doing are as a result of me contacting the branches direct I thought might be interested.  Kate invited me to Northampton (so it was all her fault!).  More than happy to do others if someone contacts me,

That's up to me. Bill can you send me a message with your non-forum e-mail address and I will send you an invite for 2013 - I am working on speakers at the moment. I was thinking of getting it via Kate when I saw her advert for Northampton.
Anthony - do you come to our metings. If you are there tomorrow say hello.

Glad I did Bill. You give excellent value, in addition to expertise. I kept looking at one chap in the front row who seemed transfixed.

We'll be inviting you back soon for your talk on the French on the Somme.

Blimey!

When I spoke there, I kept looking at one chap in the front row who seemed to have nodded off.
