Hello all,

After visiting and seeing the work being done at the Glory Hole in LaBoisselle I have developed a real interest in the fighting that took place there.
Can any of the pals suggest any books which cover what took place there? I am not particular, I will read about the British, French or British involvement.
I am interested in the time period of 1914-1916.

I encourage anyone visiting the Somme this summer or fall to visit the site, it is well worth your time.

Thanks in advance,

Gene

Hi Gene,
There is a book in the "Battleground Europe" series titled La Boiselle, Ovilleres/contalmaison, published by Pen & Sword.
ISBN 0850525403
Mainly deals with Somme offensive but also mentions earlier fighting.

Hope this is of use to you.

If you buy any of these books from Amazon, please use the link at the top of the page so that the GWF can get some commission to pay for the running costs.

I’d also be interested in a book in English about the French at the Somme.
