My research into 2nd Bn Black watch , I am looking at 2 james hay in SDGW . Pte James hay 9385 & Pte James Hay S/7019 that's fine but when crossed checked with CWGC I have come across another Pte James Hay 3170/9 Died 21/04/1917 and is on Basra War Memorial from No 3 Coy from Edinburgh.
I have also checked with SNWM but I can't find him on there either. Can anyone help me find information on this man or tell why he has this unusual number. any help would be appreciated

Could also be an OCR error when the typeset lists were scanned. Contact CWGC and them to double-check against the paper lists. If there was a scanning error, they'll correct the online version
