Sorry for not spotting this topic earlier - As a trustee thank you for coming and supporting the first of what we hope at the museum will be a regular attraction - in addition of course to the Royal Sussex Regiment collection, Queens Royal Irish Hussars and Sussex Combined Services collection.
Apologies for what at times may have appeared slightly chaotic but we are building on this from the word go and it is a work in progress. With over 20 additional people turning up on the day, we did have to squeeze you in to avoid turning anyone away as it was a truly superb presentation and one I personally would hope to run an update on in the next year or two. However I think we can say it was a successful mission nonetheless.
So, moving forward (with blackout blinds ordered and refreshments in the museum part) we do have on Saturday 15th September, Richard van Emden on his talk "The Quick and the Dead" and on Saturday 13th October Andy Robertshaw on "The Making of War Horse the Movie".
All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the collections and in developing more events such as these as we are lacking in this neck of the woods such engaging topics for the wider audience and from a purely historical point of view what a fantastic location to develop a series of military history talks....
Don't forget, your ticket includes entry to the museum so come early and enjoy everything on offer! http://www.eastbournemuseums.co.uk/
Hope to see you all there again in a few weeks!
p.s. any suggestions or offers for assistance regarding 2013 please drop me a line, possibly April/May/June and/or Sept/Oct suggestions as the summer months do become tricky for people to attend with holidays and for presenters.
