This is a DCM citation from April 1920 (previously announced in December 1919). The soldier also earned a Meritorious Service Medal. I would like to know more about this incident and if anyone has ever come across it before or knows something, please do tell. I am going to see what I can find at the National Archives next week and will add details here if I can get to the bottom of it.

For conspicuous gallantry in action in the
Tartar country, south of Erivan, when with
a Ford car he proceeded to the rescue of the
Allied Consuls who had been held up on
the top of Kasbek Mountain. He came
under heavy fire on the Georgian Road, and
the guide accompanying him was killed.
