Turkey wants its Veteran back by 2015!

But they seem undecided as to whether or not it belonged to their Marine Corps

Turkey may have 'won' on Gallipoli but lost the war, therefore the tortoise is ours.
The Turks have enough problems without making 'demands' and alienating yet another country.
It probably wanted to escape and stowed away.
I demand that Cameron gives it political asylum :w00t:

Would the Tortoise like to spend his days in the sun, near his native village, or in Norfolk? I asked Hollande to give him a Legion d'Honneur, after all, he is over 100 and was shot at!

Preposterous - he was an illegal imigrant, now he's a war hero enjoying his last glorious days basking in the floodlights of British media coverage. We made him a celebrity tortoise -  he's as British as a Scottish Panda.

I hear he is getting a film deal out of it. George Clooney short listed to play him. Jeez.

According to the Hurriyet article they think he is a turtle not a tortoise so he should definitely be given political asylum before he is drowned in the Dardanelles.
He'd be very welcome to live in my garden a few hours south of Gallipoli......I know a tortoise when I see one!

I will say a prayer for your success. It begins: "Our Father who tortoise to pray". You probably know the rest.
