Donne moi les noms et les régiments de tes deux hommes et j'irai demain au Touret.

Me souviens qu'on a parlé des arbres à Fromelles mais je ne vois pas à quoi tu fais allusion... Fais moi un petit rappel

Cheers wink.gif

Good evening Marina !

It is a special order to a specialist trader here in norther of France.

In fact it is just the printed version of the prototype maked from wishes of the members of RMF Association for wich I "work".

I have not yet the authorisation for the definitive but I could not resist to anticipate this evening.

Très amicalement

Michel

Here is the Cristo das Trincheiras at Batalha Monastery
QUOTE (Sullivan @ Feb 3 2007, 03:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Michel,

When I compare the photo with that of Christ of the Trenches, there appears to be a difference in the form of the sculpture. The head is slightly turned down and the cloth girdling the waste looks different. So perhaps it was the other cross you mentioned.

Have you been able to get the photo of the plaque that  is in the Town hall of RICHEBOURG. I just wish I could get to France and walk the the whole area with you as my guide, it would be very enlightening.

Regards,

James.

I'm glad you could not resist. Even the printed version looks lovely.

As the originator of this thread, many moons ago, I am finally making another posting! A friend of mine, an academic Historian in Ireland, came across the thread by chance and suggests that it might form the basis for an article in the magazine 'History Ireland'. I don't know whether anyone would fancy helping collate the mass of information unearthed by the splendid contributors here into such an article?
