What was the "War Gratuity" that I find mentioned on a number of naval service record cards?
I preume that it was a one-off payment (how much?) to acknowledge service during WW1, but were there any other qualifications required?

Charles,

Thank you.

I should have looked further.

Is there a website where these are recorded? I've got quite a few details about my great uncle's gratuity and I'd like to think he was well provided for after his shocking injuries.

You could start a thread on him, which may attract comparisons.
