My family came from Bodelwyddan, Wales, hence the interest in anything Kinmel and Bodelwyddan.
I'm trying to locate an account of people hearing ghostly footsteps/marching in Bodelwyddan after the soon after the war.
If any member has visited Bodelwyddan there are 100+ war graves, mostly Canadian, who died around the Armistice of Influenze. In addition there are the 5 graves of servicemen killed in the 'riot'.
One presumes the 'footsteps' are of the men buried there, but with Kinmel camp, who knows. Being quite interested in paranormal goings on, more so on a friday night, i'm intriuged to find out more.
Sorry to be vague

I visited Bodelwyddan in July and found the military plot at the church quite fascinating. No ghostly footsteps I'm afraid, but it has lead to another research project. When will I ever learn!

Despite a big interest in Bodelwyddan, I've never heard of any supernatural activities at neither the Castle nor the Camp.
The Kinmel Camp thread has a few ex-squaddies based at the Camp during National Service - give some of them a pm for their hands-on experiences!

Will do Geraint. I'm surprised you've not heard of the 'footsteps'

I spent 3 months training at Kinmel Park Camp in 1954/5. Plenty of footsteps but I don't remember any ghostly ones. The military graves in the churchyard were a mystery to me at the time, shame I didn't know about the background then.
10 pints of lager on a friday night sounds o.k. but in those days we couldn't get a drink on a sunday, is it still the same?

Thanks keith
I keep trying to find the source, which first told me about the 'noises', but, to no avail.
I'd go ghost hunting, but, once i swear i saw a ghost at Dewa, Chester, put the wind up me to say the least.

Interesting thread,
I must admit i never believed in anything paranormal until one night i looked into my bedroom window at night from the garden and saw a plump victorian dressed women reaching for an ornament on my shelf

......though i do have i think a military ghost experience.....in Burcombe Wiltshire about 5 miles outside of Salisbury.....the village was used as a camp for Australian soldiers in ww1 and ww2 i believe...up a track (right at the top, very high) there is what is locally know as the punch bowl and this was used as a firing range by the troops....i used to go running up there before i joined the army...its almost silent up there except for birds...no cars no houses for miles..anyway..i was running along and for the first time felt very cluastraphobic...almost as if i was in a dense crowd....then all of a sudden the unmistakable noise of a Bi-planes engines roared in my ears..so much so that i was left almost deaf for a couple of minutes...the sound lasted about 5 seconds and it was silent again.....i had never run the 5 miles home as quick...i kid you not....
