The services at Ulster Tower and Thiepval were both excellent, well organised and perfect for the occassion. Well done to Norman and team at the Tower and to Rod and his team at Thiepval. The ATC bugler at Ulster Tower was a credit to his unit, as were the rest of the contingent. At Thiepval the Police Band were spot on as usual and the flag planting at the end was a nice touch. Congratulations.
Hopefully there will be some pictures soon.

Totallyagree, especially about the bugler, he did so well. Amazing day, weather was kind, although a little breezy but after last night!! A cup of coffee well laced with whisky (Irish, of course) at the Tower took the chill away, many thanks it was a great gesture.
The fly past by the Hercules was unexpected but magnificent.
Will post some photos when we get home on Wednesday

Thanks for the update from France and will look forward to the pictures later. Of course the one year I couldn't make it out there Norman, Teddy and Amanda were all interviewed by Paul Clarke. It would have been worth seeing the panic that request would have generated. The Paul Clarke clip has just been shown on UTV and I must say all came across very well indeed. Sorry I missed it all, but in the words of one of Arnie S "I'ill be back" next year, if not before!
Regards, Tommy.

Hi Pam,
Thanks for posting the superb photos.
I hope you don't think me too cheeky, but would you allow permission for me to use a copy of photo 4 in our next branch newsletter (Somme Bugle)?
(The chap who was supposed to be taking photos for us didn't have a charged battery on his camera! Bloomin' "bleeps"!)
Mick,
Beat yer, I'm in 4 of them
John,
Aye a wee bit "breezy" nearly got blown over a couple of times

Steve there would have been a perfect picture of your trousers flapping in the wind. The standard bearers are really the unsung heroes.
Heres some more of you and the others.

Hi Mick,
Thanks for posting the photos.
The ATC standard (or are they banner) bearers performed brilliantly in those windy conditions alongside the "old and bold".
I had the honour of parading alongside the ATC again later on in the day at Achiet-Le-Grand and again the whole unit was superb in turnout and bearing a credit to their organisation.

Their S'arnt Major was a bit scarier than most though, even given they are RAF

. They were the best cadets I have seen for a long time and I certainly admire the adults who give their tme and effort bring it all together.
