I'm trying to find out more about Senior Officer Courses as distinct from Senior Officers School which Charles Messenger mentions at Page 361 in his "Call-to Arms".

Unit War Diaries often mention Lt or Capt So & So proceeded to England on Senior Officer Course. Google gives a few hits about officers going on such to Aldershot. Were they all run at Aldershot? What was the duration of the course, numbers attending and subjects covered etc etc?

Thanks in anticipation of help.

I think that they are one and the same thing. The Senior Officers School basically ran of course - one for potential commanding officers and the other for instructors. The fomer taught an officdr everythinghe needed to know in order to effectively command a battalion, while the lattere catered for the training organisation un UK, especially officer cadet battalions.
