Hello,
Some pictures from an exhibition we organised in my small village of the loire Valley

as a ' souvenir' for the 26 men from this place who died during the Great war...

That is a very nice collection of items. Is the red and blue infantryman's uniform from a specific regiment? A local one?

Many thanks for posting these most interesting images.
There are some very nice artifacts on display.
I particularly like the personnel effects of the Poilous.

Scott,

The red and blue 'piou-piou' is from the infantry regiment 113 from Blois
Local regiment with great losses on the 22 of August 1914 at Signeulx ( Belgium) 1200 men out of 3600 in one day!!

Most of the items shown are' "local" it was the idea fot the exhibition !!

Thank you for sharing your Village Exhibition with the Forum, where about is your village? I don't know France that well, I spent 5 days in November with a party from The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum from Armagh N.Ireland, we started in Arras and worked our way to Flanders. very enjoyable will go back again. Any more photos?

Menars is a village near of Blois located in the Loire Valley between Orleans and Tours

one of the Loire Castle......
