Chris,
thanks for the reminder, found it to be really sad but interesting.
I have visited Roland's grave several times after just 'stumbling' over it whilst taking the 'pretty route' to the Somme, having seen this programme I must now track down a copy of Vera's book.
Regards and best wishes,
Scottie.

There was a fair bit about Geoffrey Thurlow, with quotes from his letters, and a bit of an exploration about Veras feelings about him. I thought all the actors involved were very good, as of course was Sue! I always say hello to Geoffrey when at the Arras memorial, and this year I paid my respects to his brother, killed a year and a day after him, who is remembered on the Loos memorial.

Michelle,
thank you very much for the tip, I will seek a copy out, oh my dear wifes christmas pressies are really stacking up! oh she will be pleased!
All joking apart, I have not really had much time for the pacifism argument in the past, but I am begininng to see it in a whole new light when you know more of their background and the tragedy and human experiences that helped them form their opinions!
Regards,
Scottie.
