Full Version: Marching towards Doiran - a lost village

I am looking for a village that lies between Lembet Camp and the Doiran front. The unit I am researching took this route: LEMBET CAMP > AKBUNAR > AMBARKOJ > SARIGOL > VERGETOR > MALOVCI > LEBICOT.

I have been able to locate all the villages except for AKBUNAR. The advance took the battery 7 night marches so this village should be within one days march from Lembet.

I also want ot confirm that LEBICOT is actually JENIKOJ.

Hi Andrew,
Akbunar is on the hills north of Salonika, just NNE of Dautbali. The Austrian map calls it Albunar, but every other map I've seen says Akbunar. Possibly a printing error?

No idea at present on Lebicot huh.gif
Was this in September 1918?

I saw Albunar and it had crossed my mind as to whether it was a 'typo'. The time of passing through Lebicot was 29-30 July 1916. The reason I think it maybe JENIKOJ is based on my assumption that MALVOCA is actually MALOVCI which puts the Brigade in the vicinity of JENIKOJ.

Thanks Dave for the link.
