Hi Chaps,

Michelle has passed the baton on to me to try and get a local meet up for the North Wilts area.

As Michelle had so many people cancelling and dropping out due to work, lets try to pick a date (and time) that is agreeable to as many of us as possible.

Possible dates (all are Saturdays):
1/ 28th March lunch time
2/ 28th March Evening (7pm ish)
3/ 4th April Lunchtime
4/ 4th April Evening (7pm ish)
5/ 18th April lunchtime
6/ 18th April Evening (7pm ish)

The 11th April is in the Easter Bank holiday weekend so thats not included

If you can pick the three best date / times for you and post em
Once we get a list, we'll try to find a location that is central to the majority

Cheers
Grant

Evenings probably best for me, the first 2 dates probably.

Where shall we three meet again?
O.K not again,It was too good not to use.[although no doubt being England, there will be thunder ,lightning and rain. And possibly sunshine ,snow and everything in between.]
anyone want to plump for a place to meet on the 4th.
Maybe if something is agreed some others might be able to make it too.
Best,Paul.
Richard Fisher
Afternoon,

Sorry for not responding to this earlier. I am able to attend on the evening of the 4th so will keep an eye on this thread as to the location and timings.

Regards

Richard

Me and Richard are Swindon based and Michelle is in Chippenham, not sure where the Nestles factory is (York according to google !!)
So at the moment somewhere between Swindon and Chippenham looks good - maybe Wootton Basset or Christian Malford ?

Anywhere will be fine for me.though Christian Malford is closer.
Regards,Paul.
P.s picture is of the old Nestles factory with the recent floods[common occurance around here]
normally you can see the weir under it!
now known as Cereal Partners-but still known to all and sundry as Nestles.
To keep it on message-I have an appointment in early april with a former worker who has kept all sorts of records and information of the workers who served and died in the first war.

4th and 18th April both midday and evening are good for me.

Anywhere in the local area is good for me. Melksham based.

Martyn
JohnBelcher
Eve 4th April - is good for me

Chippenham based as well

Thanks

John
Grantowi
Lets settle for the 4th April at 7pm for a time, now for the venue :-)
we now have 2 each for Swindon and Chippenham, 1 for Melksham and I think Paul is in Trowbridge
The Red Lion at Avebury seems to be an equal distance for us all to travel
Not too sure how busy it gets on a Saturday evening.
Every body happy with that ? - I am open to suggestions, as long as its central to most of us

Grant

Avebury good for me Grant.

Martyn
Michelle Young
The Red Lion sounds OK for me as well- might be worth checking if it a biker night as the pub is a popular rendezvous for bikers.

Its no problem for me ,as I am a biker too.......
They are not as bad as they seem.....
Paul.
P.s
I Think, Sunday is biker day,but i haven't been over there for a while.
Michelle Young
Not a problem for me either- I went up on a Wednesday night once, the sole British bike amongst a lot of some powerful machines................Sadly Wayne and I wont be arriving on 2 wheels as the bike needs a new magneto.

Michelle
Martyn Gibson
My most abject apologies i misread the shift rosta and I can only make the afternoon on the 4th April Sorry about this.

Martyn
Grantowi

Hi,went past there last night about 7.00 p.m on the way to Swindon, looked busy but not very busy, just a couple of bikes there then.
Michelle,I was wondering what bike you had,and came to the conclusion it was most likely, a late 40's early 50's B.S.A.
Go on put me out of my misery, what is it?
Best,Paul.
Michelle Young
Paul- a 1956 350 Matchless. Pic on my profile...........

Just a reminder...

This Saturday at the Red Lion, Avebury, 7pm ish

I'll be the fat bloke with the beard - wishing the forum could get its act together and settle on a badge design

Grant
Michelle Young
I'm the short dumpy one who will turn up with a bald bloke............. blink.gif

Michelle
JohnBelcher
I will be the short stocky happy.gif one with glasses....Will do my best to be there but as I am currently off work sick....may not be able to make it but will try.

John
Grantowi
Chaps,

Just found out today, that the Red Lion is holding a "cask ale festival" for 2 weeks starting on............Friday 3rd April

So it might be a bit on the busy side, but the weather (rain forcast) might put some off, but I doubt it - it is real ale after all :-)

Do we stick with it or change? It might cure John of his ails :-)

Grant
Michelle Young
Sorry to hear you are unwell John, get well soon! I am happy to defer for a week or 2 but as soon as the cricket season begins I am rather stymied as I have matches Saturdays and Sundays to score. Think Spye Park have their first friendly 18th April and I think Chippenham begin even earlier........Freezing cold and wet no doubt!

Michelle
Grantowi
I don't think that we're supposed to have this meeting :-(
As Paul and Richard havn't responded, it's either the fat bloks with a beard and the short dumpy one with her bald sidekick OR we leave it for another day
Your choice Michelle.

Grant
Michelle Young
How about the 17th- 2 weeks today? As I said happy either way. I'll PM you Grant.

Cheers, Michelle

Hi folks,
I was watching the thread, having just returned this week from the Bath Uni w.w.1 tour.To be honest i was waiting to see if the date was settled after the tooing and frooing.I can still do it this Sat,but not proberbly in two weeks as we may be away then.
I am the tall,fat,bearded one.
Michelle, John and Keith from Bristol W.F.A say Hi.
Best,Paul.
Michelle Young
I'll have a word with my Dad (MJohnson on here) and ask him to come along too if he isn't playing bowls. Will catch up with all the news from the tour from you tomorrow Paul.
Forgot that I have a cricket club fundraiser on the 17th.........D'oh
Michelle

Edit
Pops can make it he's the silver haired one who will be with the dumpy one and the bald bloke..............
JohnBelcher
I reckon I'll be there - cleared it with She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed

Just to confirm though....where is there? Is it still at the Red Lion with the Cask Ale festival?

Hey Ho Chaps,

Glad you two popped up, looked like it was going to be a no-go.

Now we're all accounted for, we'll stick to the Red Lion at Avebury @ 7pm ish - I might be a bit late / have to leave early as I've got the Father watch this weekend.

Keep your eyes peeled for:
Short dumpy bird with her bald sidekick
Short stock bloke with glasses
And two tall fat blokes with beards

Should be easy enough to spot, but it really would be Soooo much easier if the forum got a new badge organised

Grant
Michelle Young
See you all later!

Shouldn't be too difficult to spot amongst all the real ale drinkers then!! tongue.gif

See you all later

A most convivial evening. Unfortunately Richard and Grant were unable to make it but the 5 of us had a good chat. Hopefully we can arrange another meeting sometime in the not too distant future.

It wasn't difficult to spot everyone - The landlords must have thought it was a coach had pulled up when we doubled the numbers in the pub.

A good evening of chat, stories and company.

John

Hi Chaps,

Sorry I couldn't make it, situations demanded that I be elsewhere :-(
Glad it wasn't a waste of time, and am looking forward to the next meet
