I am researching a chap who was a driver/mechanic for the Kings Messenger Service from Oct 1914 until he was injured on 12th March 1915 after which he was transferred to a hospital at St Omer and subsequently to Woolwich.

His Medal Card shows ASC/GHQ/2Ech

I would like to get a flavour for what he might have experienced and what might have happened on 12th March to cause his injury. Can anyone suggest how I can find the most appropriate war diary? Does anyone have any information about KMS in these circumstances and how it was all set up?

Many thanks in advance.

Not sure what they did in the war but they move 'Diplomatic bags' around the world a secure/secure mailing system.
