I am very happy to host a quiz in Live Chat tomorrow evening, if five people or more are prepared to give 'The Apprentice' a miss.

Should you be able to attend, would you prefer the questions to be 50% or 25% Great War?

Regards,
AGWR

I have a Parish Council meeting, but should be home by 9, or at least remarkably close to that time: having managed to avoid every other episode of that stream of nonsense you name, missing another one would be no hardship.

Not fussed, but a round on post-Colonial Africa always goes down well.

Enjoyed the last 3 or 4 Quizzes. Count myself and the wife in. 50/50 suits us. Thanks for the effort, AGWR.

Despite my pathetic scores, 50 -50 sounds good to me. I hope to participate. One day someone will get the questions right, and my timing will be spot on.

It will be apologies from me (on the Somme) & MagicRat & Orson (Gallipoli) - I'm afraid.

Have a good one!

Finance and General Purposes Committee at 7.30.......and then the Reds play Chelsea......and it is live on the box.

I will try to get home as soon as possible, but may well be a bit distracted!

I'll be there after my road trip to go see a World War I German howitzer!

Any predictions for the winner Kim?

I think the miserable Geordie will do well, though we have hardly seen some of the candidates yet. Mind you, I'd sack the lot of 'em en masse if I were Sir Alan.

I think most Aussies will miss out for a while, certainly me, as 9pm UK time is now 6AM EAST. Any one from Canberra doesnt get up at that time
in winter unless you have to

I'll join when I get back in but it'll be about 9.15, at a guess.

No, no predictions yet - but as always, I'd like to smack the lot of them, it's their pomposity and arrogance which riles me ohmy.gif laugh.gif

I also watch Come Dine With Me - if EVER there was a time I wanted someone to come last it was this week's episode when the woman came on full of her own you know what, declaring she liked the best of everything, had dined in the most exclusive restaurants and wanted to open everyone's minds to the different experiences to be had. She then laid on this meal which, quite frankly wasn't THAT spectacular and ended up losing laugh.gif yay for the others - one of whom was a single mum who served up simple but good food and she came second!

I have my wine cooling for this evening and I MAY be able to answer one this week (*blush*).

We shall miss our Australian cousins if they are unable to attend.

phone alarm set, hope there are a few for us girls, lol

Just a reminder.....the answer to question 12 MUST be Libya.
So......find a question to which that applies!
If not, Ken Lees will be most upset, since he answers that question a day late.

Well Kate , better be quick here or the odd member who does not like me " popping back " from time to time might start preaching again..but my money is on the lady who runs a restaurant in Reading. She in fact makes the last two but i am unable to find out if she wins...yet. I so love reality tv. sleep.gif

Steady on, Broomers, you've had the beating of me recently. And just because we're in the Dardanelles, doesn't mean we're not keeping an eye on things.

Even so, a quiz start at 11.00, after Eric's hospitality...I can see us missing it!

Alan,

It's a shame that you are going to miss the 'Wells and the Great War' Round... Are you having a good trip?

Regards,
AGWR
Orson
Excellent trip, thanks. A report will follow when we're home. But it's late over here, the raki has been flowing, and we'll both be snoring come quiz time.

Hope you all have a good time!

Megan
Just found this - I'm up for it, mum can watch the Apprentice if she wants laugh.gif

AGWR,

Only just got round to thanking you for setting this quiz and providing the non-telly mid-week entertainment. Most enligtening and educational in WW1 matters and the rest, but its like a game of squash; brains AND speed.

Phil.

Can we have the list of Q&As pretty please? Who will be setting the next one?
Steven Broomfield
I think it's my turn to set the next one, but work and Parish Council commitments are taking my Wednesday from me. I'll see what I can do, but it won't be next week. Early May looks best.
brucehubbard
I am glad that the next quiz won't be next Wednesday.

Believe it or not, I have FOUR meeting that evening....
Leisure Centre meeting at 5.30
Annual assembly at 7
Full Council at 7.30
Amenities Committee whenever the last one finishes.
